'Bugs' is just one of twentyfive original screen prints made and printed in my home studio in the Surrey Hills. This original print is signed and numbered and is available both framed and unframed in black or white. It forms part of the Minibeasts collection of works and is one of my most popular screen prints.
'Bugs' is printed on 220gsm Cartridge paper using waterbased inks. Framed size: 25.5cm x 25.5cm.
I studied Fine Art in London and Barcelona and worked in the media and print industry in the UK and abroad for many years before deciding to concentrate solely on my artwork.
The inspiration for this collection comes from my love of nature and colour. As a child I loved looking for creatures and animals to draw and my passion for animals and nature remains to this day. In my studio at home I am surrounded by my free-range Pekin Bantam chickens, tortoises, cats and fish! A silkscreen obsessive, my early studies in London and Barcelona fuelled my love for colour and pattern and the silkscreen process and the random glitches and happy accidents that come from using a hand created technique.
Screenprinting is the method of creating an image on paper or fabric or some other object by pressing ink through a silk screen with areas blocked off by a photo-sensitive emulsion or stencil.
Although in an edition (run) of screenprints no one print is exactly the same as this is a hand-printed artwork.
